Job Description
One Jump Inc. is seeking a driven In-House Legal Intern to support day-to-day legal and compliance work, including corporate finance matters and tax filings/registrations. You’ll collaborate with leadership (and outside counsel as needed) on corporate finance, tax and regulatory filings, commercial contracts, privacy and data protection, corporate governance, employment matters, and intellectual property. This role is ideal for a law student or recent JD graduate seeking hands-on, in-house experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Finance: Support corporate maintenance (annual reports, franchise tax), equity administration, regulatory and tax filings (Form D, 1099/1096, sales tax registration), compliance, and banking/KYC needs.
- Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and redline NDAs, MSAs/SOWs, licensing terms, DPAs, and vendor agreements; help standardize playbooks and clause libraries.
- Privacy & Data Protection: Research obligations under frameworks like CCPA/CPRA and GDPR; assist with data mapping, retention, and DPA compliance.
- Corporate Governance: Maintain corporate records (minute book), support board consents/policies, and assist with state/federal filings.
- Employment & Policies: Contribute to compliant templates (offer letters, IP assignment, handbooks) and research wage-hour/remote-work considerations.
- IP & Branding: Support trademark searches/filings and OSS/commercial license compliance.
- Product Counseling: Spot issues in new features (privacy, consumer protection, marketing claims) and help update Terms of Service/Privacy Notice.
- Regulatory Tracking: Monitor and summarize legal or regulatory developments affecting automation/software.
- Cross-Functional Enablement: Translate legal guidance into practical checklists and one-pagers for product, sales, and operations.
Requirements
- JD completed or currently enrolled in an accredited law school.
- Exception: Outstanding undergraduate candidates with demonstrated legal research/writing excellence and relevant experience will be considered.
- Strong legal research and writing skills (e.g., Westlaw/Lexis; clear, concise memos).
- Meticulous attention to detail; ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and sound judgment in fast-moving contexts.
- Nice to have: contract lifecycle exposure; familiarity with privacy frameworks (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR), basic IP, and startup employment basics; experience with startup templates (NDAs, MSAs/SOWs, DPAs, OSS policies); comfort with collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Notion, Jira) and redlining.
